The Healing Journey

Is an inspiring presentation by Canadian artist and author Debi Fitzgerald.

The presentation is both audio and visual.

Debi has captured the stages of grieving on very large canvases to help those who have been struggling with losses of any kind. Each one of the stages was musically orchestrated to help move the viewers through the highs and lows of the journey. As each stage is important in the grieving process, it is also unique to each individual. The old saying “A picture paints a thousand words”, makes this presentation a personal journey to each and every person who experiences it. A book with the music CD is available along with an audio CD of Debi’s voice explaining hidden meanings in the pictures. For anyone having difficulty finding their way back to a happier life; this is a genuine, uplifting portrayal of hope and understanding. During the month of March, 2011, the originals will be on exhibit at The Lindsay Art Gallery (beside the Public Library). Many groups and organizations have found this exhibit to be beneficial for the facilitation of grief counseling. The Healing Journey is one of the most important bodies of work that Debi has created in t he 33 years of her art Career. Debi created 12 large 4’x 6’ canvases depicting the grieving stages after the experience of losses. These originals have been musically orchestrated to help assist the highs and lows of the journey through each stage of the grieving process.

The originals had such an emotional impact on the public that the exhibit was held over and moved to a more private setting at it’s first unveiling in Gallery On the Lake, Buckhorn Ontario in 2002.

The requests for this exhibit have been numerous by several different groups who help others such as Palliative Care, Hospice, Survivors of Suicide, women’s shelters , wellness clinics and so many more. When it is free to travel it will be determined where it will do it’s highest good

* The story of all the events leading to the creation of The Healing Journey, the course of events that followed it and the path it has taken since 2002 will be written as a follow up book once the story has unfolded.!

Debi Fitzgerald has facilitated many workshops for groups presenting “The Healing Journey”, both as a lecturer and journalist.

This collection can not be divided because of the nature of its purpose. These 12 originals are approximately 4 ft by 6 ft. There were created to help those suffering any losses of any kind. They were to be used as healing tools to remove emotional blocks. Each one of these originals were musically orchestrated by Keven Binning, Jonathan Hayhurst and Neil Butler form the UK. These paintings have helped many groups to facilitate grief counseling there fore the collection must be purchased. As they are steps of the healing journey. They assist in helping people to travel through their grieving process. It is my intention that this collection will be purchased by ether an individual or a trust fund and donated to a hospital or public forum where the 12 paintings would be made available for all to see and experience. The collection has been valued at 350,000 Dollars.
